you guys think the card is the problem? and, maybe a little off topic, but could you guys, or anyone, recommend a really good (yet not ridiculously expensive) graphics card to run this game? thanks again guys. i don't really know anything about graphics cards and such but was told at the time (3-4 years ago) it was a good one for games. i'm thinking maybe my graphics card can't handle the medium setting and that's why it keeps going back to low? my computer and graphics card is a few years old, it's a Radeon x850. and i did save the settings in the config. The game is enjoyable vanilla, but it is even better with all the creative and unique mods that are available out there.

Be sure to make a 'Named Save' before installing a new mod. i've tried this a few times, changing it to medium and even high but it seems it always gets set back to low. Well, Dragon Age Origins was released in 2009 and there’s a big graphics difference when you look at recently released games, so that mod in itself is invaluable. Not all mods work and play well with others. it was on low however when i changed it to medium and checked the game there was no difference, so i closed the game and went to reset the graphics setting and it had already been reset back to low.
